USDA Free Meal Waiver
Attention all Mississinewa Community Schools parents/ guardians and community members.
Beginning Monday, September 14, ALL Ole Miss students will be able to eat breakfast and lunch for NO charge in all of our buildings. The USDA passed a waiver to allow all students to eat free until December 31, 2020 or until the funding runs out. We feel this will benefit our students and families during these trying times.
Free eligibility will include all virtual learners as well. If you have virtual students and wish to pick up curbside meals for them, please visit our school website and sign them up. This week’s distribution on Wednesday will return to the High School door #9 from 4-6 PM. The meal packages contain 5 breakfast meals and 5 lunch meals.
While no additional paperwork is required to begin receiving these benefits, we do encourage you to continue to fill out a free and reduced application at www.lunchapp.com if you need textbook assistance or meal assistance when the free waiver ends in January.
The money your student has on their school meal account will stay on their account for when meals are charged again in January or will be there if they wish to purchase any snacks or extra items.
We hope this will be beneficial to you and your family. Thank you and enjoy your evening.
