Our Community

Gas City is known for its small-town charm. But even though we’re small, there’s still a lot going on. From car shows to golf outings to our annual Boom Town celebration, there’s always something to do. Outside of scheduled local events, our area boasts some of the most beautiful parks systems around. Our residents enjoy four distinct seasons, and outdoor activities are always on hand.

We invite you to get to know our community better. Here you’ll find links to local attractions and resources to help you decide that Gas City is the place for you!

Local Attractions

Gas City Petting Zoo – Located in the Gas City Park, the petting zoo is home to over 100 animals, from Madison the pot-bellied pig to Jenny the Donkey and Peggy Sue the goat. The mini zoo is funded solely by donations and proceeds from the animal feed and soda machines located on the grounds.

I69 Speedway – Speed enthusiasts can race sprints, street stocks, modifieds, and more for a chance to win cash prizes. Race fans can visit the pits before racing to see the cars and meet the drivers. It’s great family fun!

Marion Philharmonic Orchestra – The orchestra holds numerous concerts and special events throughout the year. Music lovers will enjoy the variety of music at the reasonably-priced shows. Every season is different!

Boom Town 1892 Festival – Celebrate Gas City’s history with entertainment, games, a vintage baseball game, and a 1890’s style golf tournament. This is an annual event in June that adds to our town’s small-town appeal.
